Updated agenda clarifies project actions, agreements, and closed session plans
The Town of Sunset Beach, NC — Notice for a Special Meeting.
Mayor Phillips has called the Special Meeting for Friday, February 13, 2026, at 9:00 am. The meeting will take place in the Sunset Beach Town Hall Council Chambers, located at 700 Sunset Blvd. N., Sunset Beach.
According to notice, the Council will consider and potentially take action on Task Order 36A with McGill Associates, P.A., which covers design, permitting, bidding, and construction phase services for Majestic Oak Park. The task order also includes additional services related to an elevated restroom structure, a playground area, and an emergency services boat lift.
Council members will also review their Regular Meeting Schedule, including a proposal to shift regular meetings to 2:00 p.m. on the first Monday of each month. The agenda further includes consideration of an Amendment to the Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Palm Cove Owners Association, Inc. and the Town of Sunset Beach.
Additionally, the Council will discuss entering into a service agreement with Coastal Protection Engineering of NC for Phase 2 of the Jinks Creek Realignment Project, a continuing effort focused on environmental management and shoreline stability.
The meeting will conclude with a Closed Session pursuant to N.C.G.S. 143‑318‑11(a)(6). This session will allow the Council to consider matters related to the qualifications, competence, performance, character, or fitness of a public officer or employee, or to hear or investigate a complaint, charge, or grievance involving an individual public officer or employee.
