Sunset Beach Council Schedules March 2 Meeting with Two Public Forums

Closed sessions planned before and after the meeting; UDO amendments open for public comment

Sunset Beach, NC — The Town of Sunset Beach will hold its March Town Council meeting on Monday, March 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers.

Council will first enter a 6:00 p.m. closed session under N.C.G.S. 143‑318‑11(a)(6) to discuss personnel matters. A second closed session will follow the regular meeting under N.C.G.S. 143‑318‑11(a)(3) to consult with legal counsel.

The 7:00 p.m. regular meeting includes two public forums on proposed amendments to the Unified Development Ordinance (UDO):
• Section 3.41 – Signs: Establishing sign standards for the Mixed Use District (MUD).
• Sections 3.1, 3.3, and 3.21: Eliminating code conflicts, clarifying tree schedules, correcting grammatical issues, and expanding the approved color palette within the Gateway Overlay District and Urban Design Standards.
