Multiple Arrests Reported at Columbus County Detention Center for Feb. 25–26

Failure to Appear and Writ Arrests

Several individuals were booked on outstanding warrants, including:

  • Kwantavius D’Wan Allen, 23, of Clarkton, held on a WRIT and booked on Feb. 25.
  • Yshenna Lashay Bellamy, 31, of Whiteville, arrested on two misdemeanor failure‑to‑appear charges, one from Brunswick County and one from Columbus County. Her bonds totaled $1,218 secured.
  • Thomas Bradley Blackwell, 57, of Evergreen, booked on two misdemeanor failure‑to‑appear charges with a combined $1,000 secured bond. He was released the following day.
  • Greg Anthony Cartret, 33, of Chadbourn, arrested on a misdemeanor failure‑to‑appear warrant with a $1,000 secured bond. He was released the same day.
  • Megan Leigh Tanksley, 39, of Chadbourn, booked on multiple failure‑to‑appear charges, including one with a $5,000 secured bond and another with a $2,500 secured bond.
  • James Ward Jr., 45, of Whiteville, arrested for misdemeanor failure to appear, held on a $1,000 secured bond.

Serious Felony Charges

One of the most significant arrests during the period involved:

  • Sherman Campbell, 67, of Chadbourn, charged with trafficking in opium or heroin, maintaining a place for controlled substances, resisting a public officer, and possession of marijuana up to ½ ounce. His bond for the trafficking charge alone was $250,000 secured.

Another major case included:

  • Jeremy James Prashaw, 46, of Nakina, charged with multiple counts of second‑degree sexual exploitation of a minor, all listed as felonies with no bond. The report lists repeated identical charges, indicating multiple counts. He also faces a separate felony charge for disclosing private images out of Alamance County.

Financial Crimes

  • Kenneth McMillian, of Chadbourn, was charged with financial card theft and financial card fraud, both felonies. His secured bond was set at $2,000.
  • Shirley David Everhart, 73, of Bolivia, was charged with obtaining property by false pretense, a felony, and received a $5,000 unsecured bond.

Other Notable Arrests

  • Timothy Ray Davis, 40, was booked on a parole violation and held without bond.
  • Roy Dale Jones, 58, of Whiteville, was arrested for violating a domestic violence protection order and held without bond.
  • Karina Cristina Komnatskiy, 21, of Folsom, California, was booked on two misdemeanor charges in Columbus County and released the same day.

    All individuals are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
