STREET REACH – Homeless Outreach Is Expanding

Brunswick County Streetreach - Hope for the Hopeless

Growing need, rising demand, and a mission to serve every unsheltered neighbor with dignity and hope.

Shallotte, NC — STREET REACH – Homeless Outreach, a 100% faith‑based outreach ministry, has long served as a lifeline for hungry and homeless neighbors across Brunswick County. Operating without state or federal grants, the organization relies entirely on the compassion of donors, the dedication of volunteers, and the steady, transformative love of God.

As the number of individuals seeking help continues to rise, expanding the STREET REACH Outreach Building has become a necessary step to meet the growing demand.

The Outreach Building functions as a haven of hope, storing and organizing essential items such as tents, sleeping bags, hygiene kits, and emergency supplies used both for unsheltered outreach and disaster response. These resources are often the first line of support for individuals living outdoors or facing sudden crisis.

For many, the building is also a sanctuary for renewal. Unsheltered individuals can refresh with a hot shower, receive clean clothing, and experience a moment of peace and dignity – simple acts that restore strength and self‑worth. The space provides a quiet, safe environment where people can breathe, regroup, and feel seen.

Beyond immediate relief, STREET REACH offers a pathway to transformation. Through intake interviews, mentorship, and resource connections, individuals receive guidance toward housing, employment, and referrals to additional assistance. Each appointment represents a step toward stability and a new beginning, supported by compassionate volunteers who walk alongside them.

The Outreach Building also serves as a place of fellowship and care. Food items, cold drinks, clothing, the Blessing Box, prayer, and personal connection are offered freely. It is a sacred space where neighbors are reminded that they matter, that they are not forgotten, and that hope is still within reach.

STREET REACH’s commitment to serving the most vulnerable is sustained entirely by community generosity.

“Significant resources are required and substantial work remains, yet our team is already experiencing positive outcomes, demonstrating God’s goodness.” – Garry
