Southport Police Seeking Public Assistance in Parade Route Vandalism Case

SOUTHPORT, NC — Southport Police are reviewing images of two persons of interest after more than 200 privately owned chairs, tents, and other items placed along the N. Howe Street parade route were found vandalized ahead of the July 4 festivities. Officers documented the damage early on July 3.

The items had been set out in advance for parade viewing, a yearly tradition in Southport where the community respects one another’s belongings along the route.

Anyone who can identify the two individuals is asked to contact the Southport Police Department at 910.457.7911
