Sip Station in Shallotte Announces Permanent Closure After Challenging Months

SIP STATION Shallotte NC

SHALLOTTE — Sip Station, a popular local drink shop known for its specialty beverages and loyal customer base, has announced it will close permanently after what owners described as several difficult months of declining business and rising costs.

In a heartfelt message posted to social media, owners Ash, Chris, Shay, and Kegan said the decision was not made lightly.

“We have come to the really difficult decision to close the window for good on Sip Station,” they wrote. “We have put our whole hearts into building our little shop up… but we just aren’t busy enough to sustain.”

According to the owners, the cost of many of their products has increased significantly in recent months. Raising drink prices to offset those costs, they said, would have pushed the business away from the affordable, community‑focused atmosphere they wanted to maintain.

“Most of our products have seen a significant increase in price, and to try and increase our drinks to help cover it would make the drink prices absolutely not our vibe,” the post said.

The owners expressed deep gratitude to the customers—affectionately called “Sippers”—who supported the business since its opening. They said the shop allowed them to build lasting friendships and memories within the Shallotte community.

“We have LOVED every single moment of being a part of this community as small business owners,” they wrote. “We have made lifelong friends, and even better memories.”

Sip Station will remain open only until remaining supplies run out. Customers with punch cards or gift cards are encouraged to visit soon and redeem them before the final closing date, which the owners say will be announced once inventory is depleted.

The message ended with a simple note of appreciation: “We love you all so much.”
