Single‑Vehicle Accident and Medical Call Keep Nakina Fire & Rescue Busy Saturday Morning

Nakina, NC —  Nakina Fire & Rescue responded to two calls on Saturday morning, July 18, 2026.

At 8:49 a.m., crews were dispatched to NC 904 at Bill Long Road for a single‑vehicle in the ditch. Nakina EMS 10, Nakina Engine 29, and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol responded. No injuries were reported. NCSHP assisted the vehicle’s occupant and provided additional support.

At 10:17 a.m., Nakina Fire & Rescue was dispatched to the Gore Trailer Road area for a medical call. Nakina EMS 10 responded, along with Brunswick Fire Department and Tabor City Paramedic QRV 21. Nakina EMS 10 transported the patient to a local medical facility.

Nakina Fire & Rescue expressed appreciation for the continued support of partnering agencies and the Columbus County 9-1-1 Communications Center, noting that strong working relationships help ensure the community receives the highest level of service during emergencies.
