Riegelwood Man Charged with Deadly Weapon Assault and Cross-County Habitual Felon Warrant

RIEGELWOOD, NC — A Riegelwood man was taken into custody Wednesday evening after being charged in connection with an assault investigation and outstanding warrants.

Aaron Bordeaux, 63, of 104 Lakeside Dr., Riegelwood, was arrested following a response by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office to an assault call on Washington Street in Whiteville around 7:33 p.m. on Aug. 12. The incident victim was identified as 68-year-old David Germany.

Bordeaux was formally booked into the detention center at 8:12 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of assault with a deadly weapon, receiving a $2,500 secured bond. In addition, Brunswick County law enforcement served Bordeaux with an outstanding warrant for Habitual Felon, which carried an unsecured bond. Bordeaux was released on bond later that night.

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
