RECALL: Gourmia GPC625 Pressure Cooker

Federal regulators warn that the Gourmia GPC625 pressure cooker can open while still pressurized, causing severe burn injuries.

Federal regulators are urging consumers to immediately stop using the Gourmia Six‑Quart Pressure Cooker, Model GPC625, after confirming multiple burn injuries linked to a dangerous lid‑failure hazard. According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the cooker’s lid can open while still under pressure, causing hot contents to spray outward and severely injure users.

Hazard details and injury reports — The CPSC reports at least five incidents in which hot food expelled under pressure, including four cases of severe second‑degree burns. The agency warns that the design allows the lid to appear safe to open even when pressure remains inside, creating a serious risk for consumers.
