Driver Ejected, Trooper Uninjured in Early‑Morning Conway Incident
CONWAY, SC — A South Carolina Highway Patrol pursuit ended in a rollover crash early Tuesday after a driver failed to stop for blue lights, according to the Horry County Sheriff’s Office.
The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. at Church Street and 16th Avenue when a black Ford Ranger refused to stop, prompting a pursuit by SCHP.
A trooper used a PIT maneuver to stop the truck, causing the driver to lose control.
The pickup overturned several times, ejecting the unrestrained driver, who suffered life‑threatening injuries. The trooper was not hurt, and the patrol vehicle sustained minor damage. The investigation is ongoing.
