Local workshops offer practical tools to help owners strengthen hurricane readiness

Brunswick County, NC — With hurricane season approaching, the Brunswick Community College Small Business Center is offering a series of free, in‑person workshops to help local business owners strengthen their storm readiness and protect their operations before severe weather strikes.

The “Storm‑Proof Your Business” sessions will guide participants through practical steps for safeguarding assets, building an emergency plan, preparing critical resources, and recovering quickly after a storm. Each workshop runs from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and includes hands‑on instruction, ready‑to‑use checklists, and expert insight tailored to the needs of small businesses in coastal communities.

Participants may choose from three dates and locations:

April 9 – BCC Main Campus, Building A Culinary Center, Bolivia
April 28 – BCC Small Business Center, Leland
May 13 – Southport Chamber of Commerce, Southport

Space is limited, and early registration is encouraged. Business owners can select their preferred session and register at the Small Business Center’s event portal: ncsbc.net/Events.aspx
