Peggy Sue Cribb Housand, age 74 of Clarendon, NC, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2026 in the Columbus Regional Healthcare System, Whiteville, NC.
Peggy worked in textiles and went on to have her own business. She loved making country wooden crafts and furniture for 410 Furniture and Crafts in Chadbourn. It made her happy to create something for others to enjoy.
Peggy loved the mountains of NC, trying new foods, and visiting with her grandchildren. Her happiest of times were spent planting flowers and watching them grow. Peggy loved people. She never met a stranger and loved to laugh. Everyone who knew her, loved her and she will be greatly missed.
Peggy is preceded in death by her parents, Dewey and Belle Cribb Cartrette, her husband of fifty-six years, Tex Wilson Housand; a daughter, Lisa Housand Soles and a very special granddaughter, Adrianna Sue Fowler.
Surviving family to remember Peggy are her daughter, Christina Housand Fowler and her children: JT Fowler (wife Michelle and their children Jess and Elizabeth) and Gracie Fowler; son in-law Michael Soles (Mandy) and grandchildren Miky Soles (Cat and child Emory Adaline), Tuesday Pittman (Joseph and their children Annabelle, Lisa and Joslen) and Wilson Soles; three sisters, Donna McPherson (Jackie), Penny Witter (Mike) and Katrina Canady (Mitch); half-brother, Horace Cartrette; half-sister, Carolyn Duncan, and many beloved nephews, nieces and cousins.
Services will be private.
