Paul was the beloved son of the late Wiley and Lizzie May, and he is preceded in death by his brothers, Charles and Bud, whose memories he cherished deeply. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, and his legacy lives on through his family. Paul is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Roberts, with whom he shared an extraordinary 65-year marriage filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished memories. Together, they raised their son, Paul Roberts Jr., who, alongside his wife Myra, brought immense joy to Paul’s life. Paul’s granddaughter, Candace, was a source of pride and happiness, and he treasured every moment spent with her.
Paul’s life was a testament to the values of hard work, perseverance, and the simple joys of life. During his high school years, Paul was an avid athlete, enjoying both baseball and football. His love for sports carried on beyond high school as he joined his local softball team, where he forged lasting friendships and shared many wins and losses, always with a smile and a competitive spirit. Paul’s passion for fishing brought him peace and serenity, as he often sought solace by the water, casting his line and enjoying the beauty of nature. A skilled woodworker, Paul spent countless hours in his workshop, creating beautiful pieces that will be cherished by his family for generations to come.
Paul’s family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff on the second floor of McLeod Seacoast Hospital, as well as the compassionate hospice team who provided support and care in recent weeks. Your kindness and dedication have left a lasting impact on our family during this difficult time.
As we say goodbye to a remarkable man, we hold close the memories of his laughter, his wisdom, and the enduring love he shared with us all. Paul’s spirit will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
