James “Jimmy” Alvin Smith, age 81 of Supply, went to be with the Lord on Monday, June 8, 2026, at Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington.
Jimmy was the son of the late Dewey Worth Smith and Celia Tyner Smith. He was also preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Dean Smith and a daughter, Sherry Lynn Smith. He was also preceded in death by three siblings, Susie Mae Harrelson, Robert Gerald “Jerry” Smith and Judy Carol Johnson.
Jimmy enjoyed working in the yard landscaping, NASCAR racing, all sports and a love for all animals.
A celebration of Life Service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 4:00 p.m. at Oak Dale Baptist Church (6233 Joe Bown Hwy North, Whiteville, NC 28472) with Reverend Dean Jackson officiating.
To cherish his memory he leaves his wife, Linda Faye Boyd Smith of the home; five children, Sheila Renee Smith of Whiteville, Sandra Carol Smith Riffe (David) of La Grainge, KY, Stephanie Mae Smith Brown (Tyrike) of Bladenboro, Clifford Timothy Rochards (Christie) of Supply and Marcus Wayne Richards (Randi) of Lumberton; siblings, Willis Smith (Judy) if Evergreen, Shelby Jean Wright (Roger) if Goose Creek, SC, Dewey Worth Smith (Jean) of Whiteville and Linda Cartrette (Larry) of Clarkton; 26 grand and great-grandchildren.
