Home games return May 21 at W.T. “Bill” Smith Park
OAK ISLAND, NC — The countdown is officially on for another season of summer baseball on the coast. The Oak Island Loggerheads will open their 2026 campaign on Thursday, May 21, hosting the Carolina Men’s League at 7:00 p.m.
The team plays its home games at W.T. “Bill” Smith Park, located at 4446 Fish Factory Rd SE, in Southport. The 24‑acre park is a familiar gathering place for families, players, and longtime fans who return each year for the island’s signature summer pastime.
For many residents, the Loggerheads’ season marks the unofficial start of summer on Oak Island. Families, locals, and visitors gather in the stands for more than just baseball, it’s the conversations between neighbors, kids chasing foul balls, and the easy rhythm of warm evenings at the park.
