Community Safety & Traffic Alert
Columbus County, NC — The North Whiteville Volunteer Fire Department responded this afternoon to a multi-vehicle collision on Highway 701 N in the vicinity of Pridgen Acres.
Emergency crews worked diligently on-site to provide assistance to those involved and to ensure the scene was rendered safe. Traffic was impacted in both directions for one hour while responders cleared the wreckage and debris from the roadway.
It was reported as of 3:15 p.m. the highway is fully reopened. NWVFD reminds folks to slow down and move over when you see emergency personnel working on the roadside. Your alertness saves lives.
