NASCAR Announces Nominees for 2027 Hall of Fame Class, Landmark Award

NASCAR HALL OF FAME

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — March 29, 2026 — NASCAR has released its list of nominees for the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2027, along with the five nominees for the Landmark Award for Outstanding Contributions to NASCAR.

The announcement includes 15 Hall of Fame nominees — 10 on the Modern Era ballot and five on the Pioneer ballot — as well as five individuals nominated for the Landmark Award.

Harvick, Elder, Elliott, Nab Among First‑Time Nominees

Kevin Harvick, the 2014 NASCAR Cup Series champion and 2007 Daytona 500 winner, appears on the Modern Era ballot for the first time following his first year of eligibility. He is joined by newcomers Ray Elder, a six‑time ARCA Menards Series West champion, and Ernie Elliott, the 1988 NASCAR Cup Series championship‑winning crew chief.

On the Pioneer ballot, first‑time nominees include Ray Fox, a 14‑time Cup Series winning car owner and 1956 NASCAR Mechanic of the Year, and Herb Nab, a two‑time Cup Series championship‑winning crew chief who ranks third all‑time in crew chief victories.

Two inductees will be selected from the Modern Era ballot and one from the Pioneer ballot to form the Class of 2027.

Landmark Award Nominees Announced

The Landmark Award, which recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the growth and prestige of NASCAR, features five nominees. Among them is T. Wayne Robertson, a longtime R.J. Reynolds executive who previously appeared on the Hall of Fame ballot before the Landmark Award was created.

Voting Begins April 14

The NASCAR Hall of Fame Voting Panel will meet in person on Tuesday, May 19 to select the Class of 2027 and the Landmark Award recipient.

Fans will once again have a voice in the process through the NASCAR.com Fan Vote, which opens April 14 and closes May 17. The final inductees will be announced live on The NASCAR Channel, with fans invited to attend the event at the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

How Nominees Are Selected

The Modern Era and Landmark Award nominees were chosen by the Nomination Committee, which includes representatives from NASCAR, the NASCAR Hall of Fame, major track owners, historic short tracks, and at‑large industry members. The Pioneer ballot was selected by the Honors Committee, made up largely of Hall of Famers and previous award winners.

About the NASCAR Hall of Fame

The NASCAR Hall of Fame, located in Charlotte, North Carolina, opened in 2010 as the sport’s official home for honoring drivers, crew chiefs, team owners, and industry leaders who have made lasting contributions to stock‑car racing. The facility includes interactive exhibits, historic race cars, and rotating displays that chronicle NASCAR’s evolution from its early days on the beach at Daytona to the modern era of national touring series.

Inductees are selected annually through a combination of industry experts, Hall of Famers, media members, and fan voting. The Hall’s mission is to preserve the sport’s history while celebrating the individuals whose achievements shaped NASCAR’s growth and national prominence.
