MYRTLE BEACH, SC — The Myrtle Beach Police Department is preparing to welcome residents for National Night Out 2026, a citywide community‑safety event set for Tuesday, September 29, from 5:00 to 7:30 p.m. at the Myrtle Beach Convention Center’s Exhibit Hall C.
The annual event remains one of the city’s most visible public‑engagement efforts, offering families a chance to meet first responders, explore safety resources, and take part in an evening designed to strengthen neighborhood relationships.
Police officials say National Night Out continues to serve as a cornerstone of Myrtle Beach’s outreach work. Attendees will have the opportunity to meet Myrtle Beach Police officers, City Council members, and specialized units including SWAT, K‑9, and Bike Patrol. The event also features fire vehicles, public works displays, and hands‑on demonstrations that highlight how multiple departments collaborate to support emergency response and city operations.
In its August 11 announcement, the department encouraged residents who want to “learn more about your city and its first responders” to attend.
Neighborhood Watch Competition Returns
The popular One Pot Wonder cook‑off will return this year, bringing a friendly competitive spirit to the evening. Neighborhood Watch groups will compete for first, second, and third‑place prizes, with visitors invited to sample each dish. Organizers say the cook‑off consistently draws strong participation and remains one of the most anticipated features of National Night Out.
Beyond safety demonstrations, the event will include vendors, face painting, arts and crafts, music, and other free activities for all ages. Police officials describe the evening as a relaxed, accessible way for residents to engage with the departments that serve them daily.
