Murrells Inlet, SC — Emergency management officials from Horry and Georgetown counties will host a Hurricane Prep Town Hall & Expo on Monday, August 10 at 6:00 p.m. at the Murrells Inlet Community Center.
The event is designed to give residents practical guidance and resources ahead of the peak of hurricane season.
The town hall will bring together local emergency teams and nonprofit partners to help families understand preparedness steps, gather information, and connect with organizations that support community readiness.
Attendees will be able to meet response personnel, ask questions, and pick up materials aimed at strengthening household plans before any storm forms.
Participating agencies include Horry County Emergency Management, Georgetown County Emergency Management, the American Red Cross of South Carolina, the Waccamaw Regional Council of Governments, and the Winyah Bay Disaster Preparedness Committee.
Organizers say the goal is simple: make sure residents have the information they need now, while conditions are calm. The event’s message emphasizes early action – get prepared, stay prepared.
The Hurricane Prep Town Hall & Expo will be held at the Murrells Inlet Community Center, located at 4462 Murrells Inlet Road.
