Judge Jessica Locklear imposed the mandatory sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole immediately after the verdict was delivered on June 12.

The case began in April 2023, when Allisa’s 24-year-old body was recovered from water off Chair Factory Road, at a location widely known in the community as Heartbeat Bridge. Mincey was initially charged as an accessory, but investigators later elevated the charge to first‑degree murder after reviewing additional evidence, including digital records.

The investigation involved the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office, the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, and the FBI.
