Two family‑friendly programs set for May 16 along the town’s waterfront

Shallotte, NC — The Shallotte’s Riverwalk will host a pair of community events on Saturday, May 16, offering a mix of local shopping, food, music, and hands‑on activities for families.

The town’s “Market‑Fest” will run from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., featuring local artisans, crafters, food vendors, and food trucks. Live music is planned throughout the day, and organizers say the event is designed to highlight small businesses and makers from across the region.

At the same time, the Riverwalk will serve as the site of a “Touch‑A‑Truck” program, giving children the chance to explore fire, police, and construction vehicles up close. The event is free to attend, and a limited number of t‑shirts will be available while supplies last.

Visitors can reach the Shallotte Riverwalk by navigating to the Shallotte Town Hall beside Cheers Plaza. From Main Street (U.S. 17 Business), turn onto Wall Street at the traffic light by the ABC Store or the second entrance onto Cheer Street by the Cheer Plaza sign. GPS address: 200 Cheers Street. A paved walkway behind the municipal buildings leads directly to the Riverwalk.
