Man Arrested, Cited on Multiple Traffic Violations on Highway 501 Early Friday

MYRTLE BEACH, SC — A 30‑year‑old man was arrested early Friday morning after officers conducted a traffic stop along the northbound entrance to U.S. Highway 17 from U.S. Highway 501.

According to Myrtle Beach Police Department records, Jacob William Robert Vasquez, 30, was arrested at the 2400 block of Highway 501 at 1:31 a.m. on August 14, 2026. Officers reported several alleged violations during the stop.

Police listed the following charges associated with the arrest:

• Traffic / Speeding, More Than 25 mph Over the Speed Limit — Misdemeanor • Traffic / Failure to Possess Registration Card — Misdemeanor • Traffic / Driving Under Suspension, License Suspended for DUI — First Offense (Misdemeanor) • Traffic / Failure to Surrender Driver’s License When Required — Misdemeanor

A related case report was logged at the same time and location.

Separate citation records show Vasquez was cited under Case #26017041 for the same alleged violations at 2489 Highway 501, also at 1:31 a.m. The citations included:

• 56‑05‑1520(G)(4): Speeding, More Than 25 mph Over the Speed Limit • 56‑03‑1250: Failure to Possess Registration Card • 56‑01‑0365: Failure to Surrender Driver’s License When Required • 56‑01‑0460(A)(2)(A): Driving Under Suspension, License Suspended for DUI — First Offense
