The Town of Leland will begin intersection upgrades at Ocean Gate Plaza and New Pointe Boulevard on January 27 to improve safety and traffic flow in the commercial area.
For about 4 months Ocean Gate Plaza will be closed between U.S. 17 to the roundabout, including the highway turn lanes. Detours will be posted, and all nearby businesses will remain accessible.
The project adds a teardrop roundabout, new sidewalks, crosswalks, pavement markings, and updated signage to support safer travel for drivers, pedestrians, and cyclists.
The improvements reflect the Town’s investment in a safer, more connected community and align with transportation goals in the Leland 2030 Strategic Plan.
