Board to Consider Initial Zoning for Annexed Parcels Along U.S. 74/76

Leland, NC — Leland Planning Board will conduct a public meeting on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at 6:00 p.m. or shortly thereafter at Leland Town Hall, located at 102 Town Hall Drive.

The public meeting will address a zoning map amendment to initially zone approximately 150.61-acres in connection with a voluntary annexation. The Public is welcome to attend and participate in the public meeting. Written comments may be submitted up to 24 hours prior to the public meeting date.

The request before the Planning Board is a zoning map amendment tied to a voluntary annexation.

The applicants, WGTRACT6 LLC and WGTRACT10B LLC, are seeking initial zoning for two Brunswick County parcels totaling 150.61 acres. The properties are located along U.S. Highway 74/76, positioned east and west of Compass Pointe East Wynd NE, and directly south of the Compass Pointe neighborhood.

The amendment would assign Town of Leland zoning classifications to Brunswick County Tax Parcel IDs 0280000101 and 02200024. The proposed designations include LE‑M‑F (Multifamily District), LE‑C‑1 (Commercial Business District, General Commercial), and LE‑C‑3 (Commercial Trucking District). These would replace the current county zoning of CO‑C‑LD, Commercial-Low Density. A vicinity map of the subject area is available for public review.

Residents are invited to attend the meeting and offer comments in person. Written comments may be submitted up to 24 hours before the meeting. For additional information, the Town Clerk’s Office may be reached at (910) 332‑4297
