Leland Man Charged in Serious Violent Domestic Incident Involving Pregnant Victim

LELAND, NC — A Leland resident was taken into custody by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office following a domestic disturbance reported on Price Road.

Brandon Wright, 20, of Leland, was arrested on the evening of July 19, 2026. Sheriff’s office logs detail a violent domestic response around 3:13 p.m. at a residence located on the 1600 block of Price Road.

Authorities charged Wright with;

• Assault by Strangulation, Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence
• Battery of an Unborn Child.

The victim was identified in public records as 20-year-old Alexionna Aleshanae Araujo. Deputy Andrew Iannone was the reporting officer on the scene, where personal weapons were noted as being used during the assault.
