Deputies say vehicle break‑ins remain one of Brunswick County’s most common property crimes.
LELAND, NC — Deputies charged Joel Salas De La Cruz, 37, with breaking or entering a motor vehicle after an incident reported on June 4. Vehicle break‑ins continue to be one of the most frequent property crimes in Brunswick County, often involving unlocked cars and valuables left inside.
Deputies have not said whether the vehicle was damaged or whether any items were stolen. Salas De La Cruz was booked into the Brunswick County Detention Center and later released pending a court appearance.
All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law. Charges and case statuses may change as investigations and court proceedings continue.
