Lancaster steps into the role as Lake Waccamaw Fire & Rescue enters a period of operational transition

LAKE WACCAMAW, NC — Chase Lancaster was sworn in on March 12 as the new chief of Lake Waccamaw Fire & Rescue, according to an announcement from the Town of Lake Waccamaw’s official Facebook page. His appointment comes as the department navigates ongoing changes in the town’s emergency service structure.

Town officials noted Lancaster’s commitment to public safety and steady leadership as he assumes responsibility for daily operations, personnel support and maintaining the department’s emergency readiness.

The appointment follows the town’s continued transition of EMS responsibilities to Columbus County, a process overseen by town commissioners. Lancaster’s leadership provides continuity as the department adapts to the shift while continuing to serve residents with reliable fire and rescue response.
