Cerro Gordo Volunteer Fire & Rescue Responds to Afternoon Outbuilding Fire

Mutual-aid partners assist in quick containment; no injuries reported

Columbus County, NC — Cerro Gordo Volunteer Fire & Rescue responded at 12:52 p.m. on March 12 to a reported structure fire involving an outbuilding behind a residence.

Mutual-aid units from Roseland Volunteer Fire Department and Fair Bluff Fire & Rescue were dispatched to assist.

Firefighters arrived to find the outbuilding fully involved, with heavy flames and smoke visible. Crews worked together to bring the fire under control and extinguish it.

No one was inside the structure at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Cerro Gordo personnel expressed appreciation for the mutual-aid support provided during the response.
