Kenneth “Kenny” Ray Dyson, age 76, of Whiteville, passed away on Monday, April 20, 2026 at Lower Cape Fear “Angel House” LifeCare Center surrounded by his loving family.
Kenny was born on May 26, 1949 to the late Ernest Queen Dyson and Thelma Mae Ward. He was also preceded in death by his brother, Jerry E. Dyson.
Kenny honorable served his country entering the United States Navy on September 4, 1968 and was assigned to the USS Bolder with a total service time of 4 years and 2 months, being discharged on March 1, 1972.
Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, April 24, 2026 at 3:00 p.m. at Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Preacher Jackie Strickland and Edwin Skipper officiating. Burial will follow in the Whiteville Memorial Cemetery with Navy military honors.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:30-2:45 p.m.
Surviving family includes, his wife Alice Elizabeth “Beth” Dyson of the home; sons, Kevin Dyson (Mendy) of Whiteville, Stephen Dyson (Tasha) of Whiteville, Terry Clifton (Dee Dee) of Clayton; brother, Charles E Dyson (Barbara) of Whiteville; grandchildren, Chase Dyson, Anna Grace Dyson, Liam Dyson, Brayden Dyson, Brendan Clifton, Owen Clifton, and Emersyn Lynn Clifton.
