Chadbourn Man Charged With Property Damage to Farmland

CHADBOURN — A Chadbourn man was charged this week after deputies responded to a report of damage to agricultural property, according to Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and detention‑center records.

Eston Clint Nobles, 37, of Hewitt White Lane, was booked into the Columbus County Detention Center on April 21 on a charge of injury to trees, crops, or lands, a misdemeanor offense. He was issued a $2,500 unsecured bond, according to the jail report.

Deputies listed the State of North Carolina as the victim in the incident, which is standard for cases involving damage to land or agricultural resources. No additional property details were included in the incident log.

Nobles was arrested by the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office and is scheduled to appear in court on the charge, which remains awaiting trial.

No injuries were reported.
