LELAND, N.C. — One person was killed, and two others were injured in a shooting early January 2 on Dixie Drive, according to the Leland Police Department.
Officers responded to the scene around 3:30 a.m. and found three individuals suffering from gunshot wounds, including an alleged shooter. Police identified the victim who died at the scene as 35‑year‑old Dylan Charles Hennessey of Wilmington.
Two additional individuals at the residence were transported to Novant Health for treatment of non‑life‑threatening injuries.
This is an open investigation but noted that all individuals involved were known to one another.
