Horry County, SC — Horry County Fire Rescue (HCFR) responded to three separate incidents on June 29 and June 30, including two structure‑fire calls and one motorcycle crash that slowed traffic in Conway.
On June 29 at 3:57 p.m., HCFR was dispatched to Bethune Drive in the Bucksport community for a reported non‑residential structure fire. The incident was brought under control. Two sheds were destroyed, and a nearby residence sustained exterior damage. No injuries were reported, and no one was displaced. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Earlier that afternoon, at 2:08 p.m., HCFR responded to a single‑motorcycle crash at North Highway 701 and Mt. Pisgah Cemetery Road in Conway. Traffic in the area was slowed during the response. One person was transported to the hospital with injuries. South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating, with assistance from the Horry County Police Department and Horry County Sheriff’s Office.
On June 30 at 12:03 p.m., HCFR was dispatched to Windchime Drive for a reported residential structure‑fire incident. Firefighters arrived to find a light haze and an electrical odor. The situation was quickly brought under control, and the cause was traced to burned wires in the HVAC system. No injuries were reported. The Horry County Police Department assisted.
