Horry County Emergency Management and its public safety partners will hold a Hurricane Preparedness & Public Safety Event on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at the Walmart 10820 Kings Road, Myrtle Beach. The event runs from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. and is open to all residents seeking reliable guidance ahead of the 2026 hurricane season.
The outreach event will feature preparedness information, storm‑readiness resources, and opportunities for residents to speak directly with emergency personnel about safety planning. Emergency vehicles will be on-site for public viewing, and the Horry County Animal Care Center will participate with adoptable dogs available.
Attendees can expect preparedness tips, printed materials, and conversations with multiple public safety agencies about evacuation planning, emergency kits, communication strategies, and storm impacts specific to the Grand Strand.
