Recognition highlights Horry County Fire Rescue’s ongoing community risk reduction and fire‑safety outreach.

Myrtle Beach, SC — Horry County Fire Rescue has earned its sixth consecutive Fire Safe SC designation, marking another year of strong community fire‑safety performance and proactive risk‑reduction efforts.

Firefighter/EMT Dorio, Capt. Rice of the HCFR Fire Investigation Unit, and Firefighter/EMT Ghent accepted the award during the 2026 South Carolina State Firefighters’ Association Fire‑Rescue Conference in Myrtle Beach. HCFR emphasized that while three members accepted the honor, the designation reflects the work of hundreds of first responders who educate residents and visitors on fire safety during daily interactions across the county.

HCFR joins numerous local and statewide public‑safety partners who also earned the designation this year.
