The Cooking Corner: Homemade Italian Pasta Sauce

This recipe is the perfect Sunday Sauce.  I grew up having this on most Sundays. I’d wake up in the morning and tell my mom that it smells like Sunday and we would both smile. It was a great tradition that I have passed on to my own children.  They say the same thing to me that I said to my mom and it just makes me so happy to hear it.  Now you too can have this in your own home for generations to come.

Ingredients
102 ounces whole canned Tomatoes
3 cups of Water
⅓ cup Garlic Powder
½ cup Oregano
2 tsp of Black Pepper
1 TBSP Salt
1 tsp Crushed Red Pepper

Directions
Add tomatoes and water to the pot. With a hand mixer blend all well. If you do not have a hand mixer use a blender before putting them in the pot.
Add the rest of the ingredients to the pot and stir well.
Put on medium low heat and cook for 5 hours stirring often. This is important as you do not want it to stick or burn while cooking.
When the sauce is done, put it on your favorite pasta and enjoy. This sauce is extremely versatile and can be used on homemade pizza and various other foods.
