Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Frying Pan Tower lecture has been cancelled. There has been a tremendous amount of interest in it, so we are working to reschedule it.

Free public program highlights the legacy and preservation of Frying Pan Tower

Southport, NC — The Friends of the North Carolina Maritime Museum at Southport will host a special evening program on Wednesday, April 22, at 7:00 p.m., featuring Richard Neal, Executive Director of FPTower Inc.

Neal will share an in‑depth look at the history and future of the Frying Pan Tower, the former offshore light station that has become a symbol of maritime safety, science, and coastal stewardship.

The program, titled “Frying Pan Tower: From Sextants to Safety, Science and Stewardship on the High Seas,” will be held at the Homer E. Wright Event Center, located at 4136 Southport-Supply Road.
