Event offers free safety gear for children of all ages while supplies last
WHITEVILLE, NC — A free bicycle helmet giveaway is taking place this morning June 10, in partnership with Trillium Health Resources and the YWCA Lower Cape Fear, providing children with properly fitted helmets on a first‑come, first‑served basis.
The event runs today only, from 9:00 to 11:00 a.m. at 310 Jefferson Street in Whiteville. Organizers say the goal is to help reduce the risk of serious head injuries and traumatic brain injuries during recreational activities by ensuring children have access to safe, well‑fitted helmets.
Helmets will be available for children of all ages while supplies last. Safety educators will also be on site to assist with proper fitting and share information about why wearing a helmet every ride, every time, is one of the simplest ways to stay protected.
