CLARKTON — A Clarkton woman reported her handgun stolen Friday night after discovering it missing from her home, according to a sheriff’s office incident report.
Deputy Joseph Coleman responded to the residence on Whitehall Road around 9:26 p.m. The victim, Sara Corriveau, 22, reported that her Taurus G3C 9mm pistol, valued at $259.95, had been taken.
Firearm thefts have been a recurring issue in Columbus and Bladen counties, with law enforcement urging gun owners to secure weapons in safes or lockboxes.
No suspect information was listed in the report.
