Felony Larceny Investigation Leads to Booking of Bolivia Resident

BOLIVIA, NC — Authorities have charged a Bolivia resident in connection with a reported theft in the area following a response by county deputies.

Dynell Smith, 36, of Bolivia, was taken into custody by the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office on July 16, 2026, at 3:14 p.m.

Smith was charged with Felony Larceny.

Incident logs show deputies responded to property on Southport Supply Road in Bolivia earlier that morning regarding a report of felony larceny and conspiracy involving victim Josaphat Mary Grainne.

Deputy Jose Noyola led the incident response.

Smith was released on July 17

All individuals listed are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
