Lidl US issues voluntary recall after allergen not listed on packaging
FDA RECALL: Lidl US has announced a voluntary recall of all lots of its Favorina Chocolate Ladybugs – German‑Style Nougat, sold in 3.52‑ounce boxes (UPC 20304492), after discovering the product contains undeclared hazelnut. The omission poses a serious risk to individuals with hazelnut allergies, who could experience severe or life‑threatening reactions if the candy is consumed.

The recalled product was distributed between January 28 and March 11, 2026, across all Lidl US stores in Delaware, the District of Columbia, Georgia, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, and Virginia.
According to the company, the recall began after it was discovered that packaging failed to disclose the presence of tree nuts. Customers who purchased the product are urged not to eat it and may return it to any Lidl store for a full refund; no receipt is required.
Lidl’s Customer Care Hotline is available at 844.747.5435 from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. ET, Monday through Saturday, for questions related to the recall. Lidl US stated that customer safety remains its top priority and expressed regret for any inconvenience caused.
