FDA RECALL: Falcon Trading Company Pulls Organic Black Bean Products Over Pesticide Residue

All lots of three bulk organic bean items recalled; no illnesses reported

FDA RECALL:  Falcon Trading Company, Inc., based in Royal Oaks, California, has issued a nationwide recall of three bulk organic bean products after routine testing detected pesticide residue in organic black beans supplied by a certified organic handler. Because these items are sold in bulk bins, where lot numbers can mix, the company is recalling all lots of the affected products.

• FTC item #003040 – Organic Black Beans
UPC 086700930403, 25‑lb sack
• SRF item #003056 – Organic Chili Bean Blend Organic

• SRF item #013000 – Organic Soup Mix Organic

The company reports no illnesses associated with the products.

Falcon Trading Company stated that the recall was initiated after discovering pesticide residue in organic black beans during routine quality testing. Because organic certification prohibits pesticide contamination, the company is removing all affected products from the market.
