Authorities have confirmed that Evelyn Rorie, 82, has died from injuries sustained in the crash. Mrs. Rorie was a passenger in her husband’s Dodge Ram. She was pronounced deceased at Columbus Regional Healthcare System in Whiteville. Her husband was airlifted to Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center in Wilmington, where he remains in critical condition. The driver of the second vehicle was treated at the hospital and released.
The victim’s name and details about what led to the crash have not been released.
WHITEVILLE, NC — Crash at the intersection of JK Powell Blvd. and Buckhead Street in Whiteville, took the life of one person Saturday night. Crews responded to the scene and closed of the area while investigators documented the collision.
Time of writing, authorities have not released the victim’s identity or any further information about the vehicles involved.
