Evelyn Snider Exhibit Opens July 6 at Thompson Heritage and Research Library

A weeklong showcase of personal items honoring the Conway educator’s lifelong service and community legacy.

Conway, SC — Beginning July 6 and continuing through July 10, the Thompson Heritage and Research Library, located at 1500 Highway 701 North, Conway, will present a special exhibit honoring Evelyn Snider, a Conway native whose life’s work left a lasting mark on education and community service across Horry County. The exhibit will be open from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.

Born August 23, 1907, Snider graduated from Burroughs High School before devoting more than three decades to teaching at Conway High School. Her commitment to service extended well beyond the classroom. She was an active member of First Baptist Church of Conway and is recognized as an honorary founding member of Coastal Carolina University.

The exhibit will feature personal items entrusted to the library, offering visitors a closer look at Snider’s legacy and the contributions she made to the region she called home.
