Horry County Sheriff’s Office lieutenant goes above and beyond after Alabama Theatre concert

NORTH MYRTLE BEACH, SC — Members of the Horry County Sheriff’s Office assisted with security during last weekend’s Trace Adkins concert at the Alabama Theatre, where Lt. Jeff Benton crossed paths with two devoted fans who had traveled all the way from Wisconsin for the show.

Kyneesha and her grandmother, Nancy, told Lt. Benton they have been attending Trace Adkins concerts together for years. Before the performance, Kyneesha handed the lieutenant a handwritten note and asked if he could get it to the country star. To their surprise, not only did Trace receive the note – he signed it.

After a bit of crowd‑sourcing, Lt. Benton located the pair before their flight home and personally delivered the autographed keepsake. He even provided them a ride to the airport to ensure they made it on time.

A small gesture turned into a lasting memory, made possible by a deputy who went the extra mile.
