Belville Founders Day Celebration Postponed Due to Extreme Heat

Town officials cite safety concerns amid weekend heat advisory

Belville, NC — The Town of Belville has postponed its 49th Founders Day celebration, originally scheduled for Saturday, June 27, due to dangerous heat conditions forecast across southeastern North Carolina.

The event – which was previously announced here: Belville to Celebrate 49th Founders Day and America’s 250th Birthday — was set to take place from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Belville Riverwalk Park.

Town officials said the decision was made out of an abundance of caution, noting that extreme temperatures and heat index levels pose significant risks for attendees, staff, and vendors.

The celebration was expected to feature live music, food trucks, a beer and cider garden, and a large family activity zone.

A new date will be announced once conditions improve and scheduling allows. Residents are encouraged to monitor the Town of Belville’s official channels for updates.
