WHITEVILLE — Columbus Regional Healthcare System and the CRHS Foundation have awarded nine $1,000 scholarships to standout Health Occupations Students of America (HOSA) students from three area high schools.
The awards recognize students who completed second‑level Health Occupations coursework and have committed to pursuing careers in healthcare. This year’s recipients represent Whiteville High School, South Columbus High School, and West Columbus High School.
Scholarship Recipients
Whiteville High School – Allison Arp – Marley Faulk – Carrie Nicholson
South Columbus High School – Kaya Hamilton – Kayla Hayes – Kyashia Long
West Columbus High School – Ariana Britt – Abbigail Clemmons – Callie Williams
CRHS CEO Jason Beck said the scholarships reflect the system’s long‑term commitment to developing local healthcare talent.
“People are at the heart of everything we do, and we view this as a strong first step in our commitment to retain and support the very best talent within our communities,” Beck said. “These students represent that future, and we would be proud to see them grow their careers within our organization and serve our community.”
The CRHS scholarship program began in 1997 and is funded through the CRHS Foundation, CRHS Volunteers, and the CRHS Nursing Department. The initiative supports students preparing for careers in nursing, allied health, and other medical fields.
The announcement was made by Stephanie Miller, Physician and Community Outreach Coordinator for Columbus Regional Healthcare System.
