Consecutive Domestic Disturbance Calls on Pine Log Road Result in Mutual Arrests

WHITEVILLE, N.C. — A late-night domestic dispute at a Whiteville residence resulted in charges for two household members following an investigation by Columbus County deputies.

Deputy Da’Norie Mack responded to 2229 Pine Log Road at 11:35 p.m. on Thursday to investigate a domestic disturbance. Following the on-scene assessment, both individuals involved were taken into custody early Friday morning.

  • John Anthony Thompson, 50, of Virgil Street, Whiteville, was arrested at 2 a.m. on Aug. 14 and charged with Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence and Misdemeanor Assault on a Female.

  • Shenika Lakeshia Matthews, 46, of Wilkes Street, Chadbourn, was arrested at 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 14 and charged with Misdemeanor Crime of Domestic Violence and Misdemeanor Simple Assault.

Both subjects were held without bond under North Carolina’s domestic violence law.
