Columbus County Detention Center Booking Report: July 16–17, 2026

James Adams Montgomery (27, of Chadbourn, NC) was booked on July 16, 2026, faces a lengthy list of severe charges following an incident involving multiple law enforcement and detention personnel. He is charged with three felony counts of Assault Causing Physical Injury to a Detention Employee, four felony counts of Assault Causing Physical Injury to a Law Enforcement/Probation Officer, felony Attempted Common Law Robbery, misdemeanor Assault and Battery, and four misdemeanor counts of Resisting a Public Officer.
