WHITEVILLE, NC — The Columbus County Disaster Coalition will host its annual Preparedness Expo Saturday, May 30, offering guests a chance to connect with emergency‑response partners and gather practical information ahead of severe weather forecasts.
The free event runs from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at 886 Prison Camp Road, home of the Columbus County Fairgrounds.
The expo will include family‑friendly activities such as Touch‑a‑Truck, and door prizes. Local agencies and organizations will provide guidance on disaster readiness, recovery resources, and steps households can take to strengthen their preparedness as we enter the 2026 hurricane season.
The Columbus County Disaster Coalition coordinates long‑term recovery and community resilience efforts across the region, bringing together nonprofits, faith‑based groups, and emergency‑management partners.
