Columbus County has released its 2026 festival calendar, offering a full year of cultural events, seasonal traditions, and community gatherings across Whiteville, Lake Waccamaw, Tabor City, Chadbourn, Fair Bluff, Bolton, and beyond.
February–May
The year begins with the Fatmucket 5K/10K Run/Walk at Lake Waccamaw State Park (Feb 14). March features Southern Farm Days (Mar 20–22) and the African American Artist Celebration Expo in Whiteville (Mar 21).
April brings the Spring Has Sprung Festival (Apr 4), Celebrate America 250 at the Reuben Brown House (Apr 11), and a busy final weekend with BBQ on the Bluff, the NC Alligator Festival, and Farmers Spring Fling Fest (Apr 24–25).
May opens with Chadbourn’s NC Strawberry Festival (May 2).
June–July
Whiteville hosts the Juneteenth Festival (June 20).
Independence Day celebrations span the county with fireworks and events in Brunswick (July 2), Tabor City, Lake Waccamaw, Chadbourn, and Veterans Memorial Park (July 4).
July closes with the Fair Bluff Lumber River Festival (July 25).
September–November
Fall begins with the NC Honey Festival (Sept 5) and Brunswick Riverfest (Sept 26).
October includes the Bolton Pine Tree Festival (Oct 3), Columbus County Agricultural Fair (Oct 13–18), Waccamaw Siouan Pow Wow (Oct 16–17), and NC Yam Festival (Oct 23–24).
November features the NC Pecan Music Festival (Nov 7), Shuck N’ Shag (Nov 5), and the St. James Waccamaw Siouan Festival (Nov 14). Whiteville’s Shop Our Stores Downtown event follows on Nov 28.
December
Holiday events include the Tabor City Christmas Parade & Tree Lighting (Dec 3), 12 Days of Christmas on Ice (Dec 3–6, 10–13, 17–20), Christmas by the Lake (Dec 4–5), Whiteville Downtown Extravaganza (Dec 5), and the Chadbourn Christmas Celebration (Dec 6).
Tree lightings and parades in Fair Bluff, Riegelwood, and Bolton round out the season (Dec 13).
